Question Suggest a tarp for 12' hammock

I went ahead and made a luxurious 12' hammock. Great! But it's too big for my tarp now.

Can you suggest a tarp that will accommodate a 12' hammock with a 10' ridgeline span? I'm looking for something to handle general rainy conditions, but not deep-winter stuff. I would accept commercial or DIY suggestions.

    thanks a bunch!

I'd get a tarp with at least a 12 foot ridge line--that will give you a foot overhang on each side-assuming perfect set up. Since I've never had a perfect set up--I got a tarp with a 13 foot ridge line-this gives me a foot and a half overhang (roughly) to work with. I choose 13 since I don't have doors to close the ends--but I can fold or bend in the excess fabric to make the rain think I have doors. Good luck!

I'd use any 12 foot cottage tarp. Either silpoly or cuben

I think Paul over at UGQ can build you a 13 footer that's not a Winter Dream, Maybe a hanger or rectangular tarp.
Plus they are building tarps now using Ripstopbytheroll's new printed fabrics,,Pretty cool stuff!!..

I too like the Kelty Noah 12. So much so, in fact, that I bought 2 in hopes that my wife would take to hammock camping. Doesn't seem like that is in the cards so now I have an extra. Not sure if I'm allowed to have more than one tarp at a time...I haven't made it that far in the HF TOS to see if that's a rule.

Also look at simply light design Jared will make a custom 13' tarp for you or you can get the winter haven with a 12' ridgeline.
    There's magic in the woods,
if you know where to look for it.

Jared can set you up. I have a 12, but he made my hanging buddies a 13 and a 14 footer. Huge tarps with plenty of room. I thought I saw a 13 footer in sdtock at his "get up and go outdoors" sale section.

Aren't those Noah tarp dimensions the diagonal, not the "ridge line" (unless you are going for a full diamond). WildernessLogics' Old Man Winter can be ordered up to 13 ft. It's great because you can close the doors with a Ridge Runner.
