JF makes these round-bottom bags look sooooooooooo easy in her excellent instructional video. My first one wasn't quite so, but with perseverance I was able to bring it to completion with satisfactory results. I made this one out of 0.9 oz MEMBRANE 15 fabric digitally printed by the RBTR OutdoorINK process in the "Tiger Stripes" (Bengal) pattern I designed, sized to hold comfortably my matching DIY top quilt. (The scrap left over from making the quilt shell was enough to make the stuff sack! No waste!)

That is a stunning bag, cowboy! The bold print just wraps it with a big hug.

I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Y'all make difficult look simple. Beautiful work!

Isn't that dandy. Some corporation is telling me how big my seam allowance should be.

I like to sew with 1/2" when sewing circles.

    I'm ticked.
Corporations know best! It's "for your own good"! (Just watched "Cool Hand Luke" the other night. "What we have here, is failure to communicate.")

BTW, thanks for the video and template! I had to select "Print Actual Size" to get the template to print to actual size. Yeash!

I made my first 11ft double layer hammock for a coworker and decided to make a round bottom sack for it. It didn't turn out too bad for a noob. I have had maybe 6-8 hours time on my machine and I didn't think the sack was too bad. I didnt do the flat seam on the inside... I didn't think I could get it thru without sewing the whole thing together! LOL. I will try it on a practice one I plan on doing later. Thanks Jellyfish for the videos and all the help you out there for us!

Made a few more round bottom bags for my cook kits using Jelly's template and calculator.. this time in dyneema cuben fiber. This thread should be a sticky...

I made one sack for my Toaks 550 Lite and another for my MLD 850. For comparison, the orange sack that comes with the Toaks 550 weighs 13 grams.. this one is just under 3 grams.

Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
