Last weekend a friend and I did a weekend trip at White Pines. Nice campground, not far and pretty good trees. It was quiet there last weekend.
Chilly over night Friday into Saturday. Around 18 degrees with 40 mile per hour wind gusts made the windchill six degrees Saturday morning. Of course I had no idea since I was toasty warm.
My buddy, who is a ground/cot dweller, woke me at around seven. He yelled over telling me how "freaking cold" it was. Apparently the propane tank on his heater ran out during the night and it got a bit chilly in his tent.
Had my multilayer DIY underquilt and a zero degree Teton sleeping bag. The layer of Insul-Bright I added to my UQ seemed to help.
When I heard about how cold it was I rolled over and went back to sleep for a couple hours.
