Nice setup! I've been interested in these type stove ever since I saw one on the Kifaru site years back.
I don't see a damper and can't tell if there is a spark arrestor on the flue. If you had these, wouldn't your burn time increase and wouldn't you be comfortable enough to go to sleep with a full load of wood? Either way, it's still a sweet setup!
Sweat set up.
That would be way cool to bring to the Mt Rogers hang. Hint, hint, hint!!

Nice rig. Impressed with your pack weight,,cool

Did you make the shelter yourself then? You used silnylon I'm guessing. I've been thinking of doing something similar but with fire resistant poly ripstop. It's heavier but I think the fire resistance is worth the weight.
I like the end product a lot though!
awesome setup dude!!!! almost exactly like my JRB Winter hut. Just had mine out this last weekend in -20's with lots of snow. sealed up all my vents but had lots of trouble with the stove. Have the same model as you. I was burning willow which is a garbage wood. Lots of moisture content frozen in the wood. Like how you have your clothes-line setup off center.
Are you going to cut down your chimney pipe ?

Very nice set up SmokeHouse. If I had that rig I'd purposely be in the dog hose more than I all ready am. What more does a man need?

Doctari - Would love to go to Mt Rogers hang,,, funds are limited, wife has 1 more year in school.
Attrezzo - Yes, DIY and yes, make of silnylon. Wt is 1lb 14oz not counting cord or stakes. The pipe goes up through fiberglass cloth. This is what they use in all the outfitter tents… good stuff.
Turk - Thanks for the article u did a few years back on these stoves. I was all set to buy a kifaru stove than read ur article. You had detailed and awesome info. -20’s,,, I would love to try that temp in a hammock. The pipe is 7’, I still have my DIY tipi that I bought the stove for and want to use it for a group shelter, so this summer I’m going to buy another pipe about 5’. Not sure which way to go, either TI or SS pipe. The 7’ is TI.
Stumo - what more does a man need? More gear…
