Like another poster mentioned, when you have more stuff in the hammock as you might when its cold, it can be annoying getting in and out of the hammock while keeping everything you've got in there from falling out the bottom. And, while this may be a fixable issue, the velcro is not as sticking as well as it used to. If I take care to get it right, it goes together fine, but I'm having to take more and more care to get it that way - which means working out my abs while in the hammock to reach over and get the velcro together.
I like the idea of being able to get my stuff together and then "sit and spin" getting into the hammock. Of course, I do realize that the less stuff I have in there, the less of an issue I'll have. I recently got an UQ and I'm sure I'll find as it warms up a little, that I need less inside the hammock.
Well, things will drop through the door when you're exiting if you're not careful. Other than that I like it just fine.
Here's an upside I haven't seen mentioned. Most hangers have noticed that changing clothes in a hammock is a hassle. It's a lot easier to change while sitting or standing in the bottom entry and it affords some privacy.
For those who haven't noticed, Hennessy has introduced a side entry model with pad slot. For me, it's not worth the extra weight. Love my Hyperlight Backpacker.
