Kurt, I know your video said last 8 miles was a dirt road, but a well manicured dirt road. In your opinion, is it really okay for my car, or should I plan on bringing my truck? I wouldn't mind the comfort and gas savings of driving my car, but I also don't want to take any chances.

If it happens to rain that weekend, how bad does that road get?

FWIW, the route I always take is the one that Google Maps will chose for you by default: exit at Dragoon, take Dragoon Rd to 191, 191 south to 181, 181 east to Turkey Creek Rd.:

That particular supply depot is on Dragoon road

It was in great shape last year, but I haven't been on it for a few months. The grades are very gentle, so I wouldn't expect any washout issues. I see cars in the campground parking lot all the time.

I have to pull out of this one, which is sad because I want to check out this area!

My church's camp out on the 5th means I'll still be in a hammock that night, but Anniversary on the 6th, while she's not adverse to camping, means it's not going to work this time.

I'll see some of you at the Mogollon Rim hang still though!

I know we are still a month out, but what's the food plan for this hike. Are we planning one day to cook together or a group? I've been wanting to get a dutch oven to play with and I figure this is as good an opportunity as any.

How about ribs? They take 2-3 hours, but turn out pretty good in a Dutch oven. I made them in a Dutch oven on a stove in a BBQ class a couple years ago. Only time I've done it, but they aren't difficult.

I plan on bringing a several loaves of homemade bread. If I know how many people are coming, I might be able to do a loaf per person.
