Has anyone tried using a single line suspension using a UCR to support the hammock? Possibly with Zing it as a fixed ridgeline?
I have searched a lot of threads and not found this yet
I have found the Single line used with rings and a clove hitch at the rings.
If the UCR was weighted as in some of the other threads would it work and hold well?
Just thinking..

You can also run a prusik from the tail of the constrictor back, rather than hanging weight off it.
How would you connect the prusik to the constrictor?
If the prusick was a continuious loop? Possibly build the prusik then join into the loop, after going through the stopper end splice?
Here is how I do it...
The prusik is longer than it needs to be, but you get the idea.
Are the end loops on the constrictor locked brummels on both ends? Or just burried and sewn on one end?
Both are locked brummels.
Also, the tail end of the constrictor doesnt need that long of a bury. 2" should be plenty... I have gotten away with 1", but thats getting a little short. To be honest the Marlin Splice (Thanks Mac) is enough for the tail loop.
I made a set like that, and changed it after one hang. What bothered me was that to lengthen the suspension by moving the UCR the prusik would get in the way once it reached the bury. Move the UCR a little, move the prusik a little, move the UCR a little....
I still use the prusik on the line to anchor the UCR but it is no longer attached to UCR. All it takes is a mitten hook to connect the two, the prusik should not be taking any serious pulling.

I like the hook idea so the prusik can be moved farther / easier and the ucr can then be moved farther also.
