Ever regret a color choice?

There are so many color options it's hard to decide but I'm curious if any are uncomfortable or cause problems.

I know camo tree straps get lost and white bug netting is bad (I don't remember why), and I don't how tarp colors act in high temps but I'm wondering if you've ever picked a color for a hammock, tarp, or other project and then regretted it.

I used to think about colors - but all my stuff is under a tarp and it just doesn't make much of a difference. My favorite hammock is purple, my favorite quilts are blaze orange, and my cuben fiber tarp is white (or maybe gray, or green - I can't tell).

Hard to see out of it, compared to black netting.

In general, I would think on sunny days, darker tarps will heat up more than lighter ones. But if you don't set up until late afternoon it may hardly matter. It surely won't at night.

Certain colors attract insects more than others: white, yellow, red. You should do a search and then decide.

The only thing I could think of is that brightly colored tarps, if one has a tendency to sleep late, could be irritatingly bright after the sun comes up. But on the flip side, dark colored tarps could become stiflingly hot after the sun comes up. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Aside from that, rock the colors you love.

I like the inside of my underquilt brighter and contrasting the color of my hammock. More than once I have settled my full weight into what I thought was my hammock but was only my underquilt.

Same issue with top quilts. At dusk or by firelight it's hard to tell which side is the inside. Nuclear Orange would help with that.

Got it. Underquilt and hammock have to be contrasting colors.
