    Options for CL to Whoopie?

What are all the options for connection from Continous Loop in a sewn channel to a Whoopie sling?

I like the whoopie hooks I've seen but I'm not sure if there is more than the hooks and carabiners.

Dutch whoopie hooks were where I ended up and I'm very happy with them. Can't beat them for weight and simplicity. They also do their job as a water break. Dutchbiners would also work but are just extra weight (not by much) compared to whoopie hooks. Regular biners would work just fine as well.

Off the top of my head (and this is the kind of thing limited only by your imagination):

    1. Larkshead whoopie to CL. Fairly difficult to remove after being loaded, but no extra widgets needed.
    2. Carabiner. Heavier option, but very simple and easy to use.
    3. Soft shackle. Similar to carabiner, but lighter and more difficult to use (especially in winter for me).
    4. Dutch hooks (as mentioned by toomanyhobbies [yeah, me, too]).

I lean towards #3 as a compromise on weight and ease of use (I haven't tried Dutch hooks yet). #2 if unnecessarily heavy IMO, and #1 is too difficult to take apart. Since trying the Beckett hitch, I've been trying to find trees that allow me go with it and avoid the whoopies altogether.

You could just use a toggle like at 6:40 in this video by Derek Hansen http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...D2&FORM=VRDGAR

Whoopie hooks are the best, IMHO.

Eliminate/remove the CL and use the whoopie thru the channel.

I Larks head the Whoopie to the continuous loop then soft shackle the other end of the Whoopie to my tree strap.
It might not be the easiest or the lightest but it works for me.

Yep. Over seven years making and using Whoopies and have never once felt the need for more gear than the slings themselves attached to the hammock.

I was worried about the slings getting wet and then getting the packed hammock wet. Is it not really a problem?

Just dry them off with a towel or hanky. Be sure you have a drip line ahead of the hammock.

Not that big of one. Amsteel it self will not absorb water like say cotton does when it soaks up water and retains it. A strong shake will expel most of the moisture that may hang onto the rope fibers.
