    Small rip. Worry or not?

I've got a BIAS hammock that I mainly use lounging around in the backyard. I've spent a few nights in it but I've got others with a bug net that I use for camping. I was laying in it today and noticed a small rip in it right at the edge and I'm wondering if it's apt to spread. If it is detrimental is there any way to fix it?

Looks like it's right next to your knotty mod(?). You might have been cranking down on those a little hard. You're probably fine, but I'd probably try some tear aid.

Where can I get some? Which type? I see type A and type B. I'm assuming type A since it says fabric repair.

    Tear Aid should work well.

If you cannot find it....patch the tear on both sides with a scrap piece of nylon and Goop adhesive. Be sure the cut the scraps with rounded corners not square to prevent peeling.

Goop is great stuff to have around. Repair air mattresses, shoes, tents, rain coats.....a neighbor kid brought me his inflatable sledding tube because apparently "my dad can fix anything." Yep, it had a big hole in it. A little surface prep, a scrap of vinyl and Goop. Good as new....held air just fine, even under the pressure of sledding.

Maybe contact BIAS, show them these pics, and ask their advice. They would know best.

The hem tends to take the most stress during ingress and egress, so I'd be particularly careful at those moments, maybe use the other side. Once you're in, the stress shifts to the body of the fabric and the hem isn't taking much of a load.

I'm also noticing a lot of fraying under the knotty mod - I'm not sure if that's due to something not being hemmed properly, the rip starting to extend, or what. It's just odd to see fraying coming out from behind what should be a clean seam. I agree w/Levi to run it by the mfr.
