    So I added weight...

But it was totally worth it. My DD Frontline came rigged with a long flat rope through each channel for tying around each tree. It was nice and light, but really hindered my hanging choices- just not enough length. I ran an 8mm 18in prusik (climbing) loop through each channel, and secured with a Bear Butt wire gate carabiner. Picked up some some 14ft tree straps (Hungry Hiker) - and voila! New suspension! But I did add a pound. Much easier to hang between long spaces, and MUCH faster to hang than tying knots. Hopefully will get some pics this weekend, going on a 3-night lake hang 😉

That's how we do it. Something doesn't work and we try something else.

Come to the Fat Butt Hang and we'll show you some lighter possibilities.

We have a set of whoopie slings, but I still haven't tried them out. What I really want to do is make my own dyneema closed loops to replace the climbing loops, that would save quite a bit. Wish I could come to the hang, but just can't that weekend--we seem to have to plan far in advance to get any weekends to ourselves. We are going to kerr lake this weekend though, we'll get some hang time at least!
