Well since they took cuben skins off menu, you will have to go mesh or xenon anyways. I have both and for me the simple answer is mesh for sill, and other like fabrics and cuben for dcf/cuben. My reasoning is this cuben/dcf takes up more space in storage unless you fold or roll, so with the material being thinner it rolls up better than the mesh. The mesh is thicker and slippery when rolling up.The draw back is trapping some water (due, rain, or even snow) with a cuben tarp if you shake it most of it comes off, and if you roll it most of what is left squeezes out. No matter what you choose you will always trap in some moisture unless you dry it before you stow it. And last but not least if your using a cuben tarp and know how light, easy to repair, an expensive it is why would you not after all your the cats meow. Meow.

I wasn’t sure about the mesh at first, but now I really like it. I don’t think the tarp itself will dry out much quicker while in the skin, but the mesh itself certainly dries quicker than a DCF or fabric skin would.
