Fabric identification

Is there a way to tell what kind of ripstop fabric you have and the level? (ie. 1.7 vs 1.1) size of the squares? Just guessing.

I have access to a lot of ripstop but it is bulk sales without any kind of labels.

Help please.

You can weigh a square yard of it. The 1.7 and 1.1 are mesurement of oz/sq. yd

If you can not breathe through it it is silnylon or polyester.
