I wonder if I were to do a flat-felled seam on the ridge line instead of the grosgrain ridge line and then seal it good where I sewed the grosgrain in the seam...
Maybe , though I seam sealed the standing seam with limted sucess. The issue is that the grossgrain actually attracts the water and acts like a wick. I believe most ridgeline allow a little water through BUT it either flows to the ends or sits inside the seam until it evaporates. The grossgrain gives it a path to penetrate.
I'm going to try waterproofing the grossgrain before installing.
May have to tear this tarp apart to fix .
Going to try one more attempt to waterproof first.

Wow.. not sure what I love more.. the location of your house or the tarp.
The two together is hard to beat.

I really want a tarp with doors!
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Thanks. Lucky to live where I do.
Love the function of the poles.

That's an awesome tarp and a really good idea. I like the functionality of that. Two questions:
    1. How much weight do the poles add?
    2. Have you had any problems with the wind trying to get underneath and pick the whole thing up like a sail?

Thank you very much. Little less pretty after my cat attacked it. ....
Anyway, I don't have a scale. It's 14×18" .344 Easton poles (minus 12") & 4 tips. Must be a calculator somewhere. .seems really light to me.
Wind wise is no worse with or without other than the tarp does not get blown in ( concave ) when the wind hits one side worth the poles installed .

Looks awesome. I did almost the same with my superfly. I actually sewed pole pockets on the 4 corners and grosgrain into the ridgeline to hold the poles.
