I do miss that on my sleeping bag. I find myself messing with tucking the TQ around my neck and putting a fleece jacket there to act as a draft collar in the winter. It works, but I would like something built in. Just not able to sell and buy yet another quilt though!

    Old guy with old gear.

Would choose to have vs. have not a TQ with a neck draft collar. My hammock gear is all relatively old. None of the TQs have a neck baffle. No plan to replace the hardware until it wears out. So it's improvise. Real cool conditions the insulated outerwear packed has a hood that zips up to over the mouth is needed. Doubles up as sleepwear. Still would be nice to have a draft collar built into the TQ.

Side note, bit off topic. Wish the baffles on the 3/4 UQ were a bit fatter. Would allow for lazy (aka sloppy) deployment.

Attached an image of the Bozeman Mountain Works (BMW) hood. Not even sure if the company exists anymore. Like their software. Quality design, construction and materials. For those considering diy a hood consider the arm pit suspenders (very light wt shock cord). Keeps the hood in place.

Once all these velcro and drawcords are properly installed and cinched, you are totally cocooned, having only the tip of your nose exposed, and you know you will sleep well.

I love my top quilts, because they are much lighter and convenient for getting in and out than this sleeping bag, but this unparalleled comfort is something I miss.

So I was considering at least the neck draft colar option.

For those who have one on their top quilt, do you find it useful ?

Would a neck draft colar on a 40° quilt be nice or useless ?
I have a neck draft collar on my 20° and love it.
