    Toolless DIY under quilt

Starting with down throw from Woot, some ribbon, double sided fabric tape and elastic cord from Hobby Lobby.
    1. Trim ribbon in 4" lengths, tape in 1" lengths.
    2. Press ribbon to tape.
    3. Trim ragged ends, peel and stick to throw.
    4. Trim cord and tie to loops and ring.
    5. Hang to hammock.

Interesting idea. Definitely come back and report on its durability.

Could you run another cord horizontally thru those ribbons to cinch it closed? Might cut down of potential drafts, though the existing shock cord nettles might do that as is.

Im also curious to know how that sticky tape is going to hold up to temp/moisture changes.

    Clever approach!

Hmmm, I bet you could do the same thing with an appropriate fabric glue...

This might work for secondary suspension loops too. Rather have them injected, but still, pretty slick.

I have to work nights this weekend so it will be next week at the earliest to try it out. I am out $10 if it doesn't work, if the tape doesn't hold I guess my Mom can teach me how to sew.

BTW I am calling it tape but it's really just paper backed adhesive.

That's a clever solution for a quick UQ! Gotta love the shock cord nettles.
Even if the tape does not stick very long (although it might), you're really not out anything at all. If your Mom gives you a sewing lesson or two, you can sew those same ribbon loops on the same quilt, AND you'll gain a valuable skill that will last a lifetime! If you sew the loops on while the tape is holding, the loops will stay put (more easily than using pins) while you sew the loops on securely. I call this a win on all counts! Thanks for sharing.

It held up to the washer and dryer after keeping me cozy on a 55ish degree night.

You also risk gumming up your needle and causing other problems. Depends on the adhesive; some are made to be sewn through, some aren't.
