Has anyone used tile grout sealer (silicone based) to seam seal a sil-nylon tarp with any success?

I think I might would experiment with grout sealer IF I had an old silnylon tarp that was in need of a total sealing. Could dip the whole tarp in the stuff and hang it out back to dry??? All my tarps are in pretty good shape right now so I'll just continue with the tube of stuff from Lowe's to seal just the ridge seams. Maybe someone else has an old tarp that they could try this out on???

Its the small bottle with the applicator tip on the top of the bottle. I still have it from tiling the bathroom floors last summer. Its silicone in some sort of solvent. I don't know what kind of solvent or if there are any other ingredients in it that might affect anything.
I can't find sil-net anywhere locally and haven't been willing to pay $10 shipping for a $6 bottle. It seems like the same concept of mixing silicone caulk with mineral spirits, but I don't know what else may be in it.
Try looking up the MSDS on it. You might even find better info from the companie's website as well.
