My webbing is 5 foot long with loops in both ends..one end has Dutch Clips...the other has my Marlin Spike (toggle)
i use 6' whoopie slings
but they can be as long as you want them to be...there is no set length
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I'm new to using UCR's with Marline spikes, mine are subject to change. Right now I have a 5' and an 8'. Of the 4 trees in my backyard the 5' only fits one of them. I'll probably end up using and two 8' straps. Trees are big here in the Northwest.
It all depends on how big the trees in your neck of the woods are. I have 6'-ish ones. Seems like most people use huggers in the 4'-10' range. with the majority in the 6'-7' range.

You'll probably find the answers relate to where the hanger lives and uses them. I live in the east and have two sets, both 1" seat belt poly with 1" loops on each end. One is 4' and the other 5'. I carry the 4' set almost all the time since they'll work on trees up to 19" in diameter. I'm using them in conjunction with 6' Whoopies and find that to be a good combination. YMMV

I have one 5' and one 7' section for my webbing, with a loop in 1 end of each. I use 6' whoopies with these and I never really have a problem finding trees to hang from in the midwest. I like to have one webbing side a little longer than the other just in case I find one tree that is a little larger and my 5-footer isn't enough.
I think this is a mind trick I'm playing on myself though, like setting your alarm clock ahead so you think it's later, even though you know it is set ahead so you make up for it in your head and go back to sleep. My fiance does that and it drives me crazy, but to each his/her own, I guess.
