State Park hang in North Central MN

Looking to get out this weekend with my 2 boys. Any State parks near Alexandria that would be good for hanging? Anyone hang in Itasca? I'm just looking to get out for a 1 nighter. Any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe look at Birch Lake State Forest......http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/st...s/sft00007.pdf
The State forests tend to be WAY LESS RULSEY than the State Parks.
They also have walk-in campsites. Always better for a hang.
Cheaper too.
