My brother and I took a day hike there and came across two "rangers" (I'm not sure what they are called) and they both made it abundantly clear that there is no dispersed camping. The minute we mentioned hammocks I thought we would be escorted off the grounds. That was just one experience though, but we haven't been back since that encounter. Have you done any hammock camping there?

Trail report. It was muddy and slick last night and this morning. Trail 8 tried to kill me. I'm so out of shape.

Hitchcock has designated hike-in sites, but no dispersed camping. New for 2017, they officially allow hammocks at two of the seven sites. See here for details.

I was surprised how expensive it ended up being for me to go up there. A $50 park pass and $10 a night to camp. That's pretty steep

Where are the great hanging spots at ICSP? My son and I planned to hang along a trail but everything was so overgrown next to and off the trail. We ended up going to a designated tent site. Has anyone camped off a trail?

When I went last spring, it was all overgrown and ended up in a tent site with knee high grass
