Nope, they're in the middle of the hammock. You can see they're stress tears. There's about 3 of them in a new hammock, used by a pencil thin guy. He noticed them after only a few days of use, so maybe another night or two and he would have fallen through, man I would have loved to see that

I've seen a robic hammock tear in a few spots from the weight of a 160lb guy after a few nights.

Strange. I used a hammock out of Robic XL 1.0 for 5 months last year without issues. And a different hammock out of the same material for 5 weeks this summer. Again, no issues. I hover around 190lbs. Maybe something was wrong with that particular piece of material?
