Hate your not going to be able to make it Southmark, I was looking forward to meeting you.

I normally dont bring the pup on winter hikes but this weekend looks like awesome weather 50*. My wife is leaving town also for Tenn and I have no wear to put the pup atm. Haley the boxer is trained and will be leashed. Do yall have any problems with this?
I've been watching this post with great interest! I have hiked the Chinnabee and portions of the Pinhoti before and would greatly enjoy the group hike/hang but I can't and I only live about an hour away. CRAP! It would have been a great time to test the new DIY double layer hammock - wally-world $1.50 nylon special.
There has been a few mentions of a later hike/hang...maybe in April...is that gaining any interest? I might be able to make one in April.
A rainy day spent in the hammock is better than a sunny day at work.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
Dale,
What day was Kenny going? I'll be there Friday nite for sure, but not Saturday nite. Shes welcome to camp with us regardless, but let her know when I'll be there if that'll help!

Ekul, wish I were going. I would bring my Lucy. She did this loop with me last Feb. She loved it. I tented so she could sleep inside with me. There is a rather large pack of coyotes roaming that area. They came within 30 feet of the tent Friday night and checked us out. Of course we were alone and a large group may deter them. Listen for them howling in the direction of Adams Gap as the start up the Pinhoti. If by some small miracle the doctor allows me to make this trip I'll bring Lucy. She is well trained, mannered, and doesn't bark.
