Would mitten hooks be strong enough to attach an underquilt to my CLs? Or are carabiners needed?
I have mitten hooks already, would need to buy new carabiners, and I'd rather save the weight.

I would think they would work fine. a UQ doesn't weigh that much and those hooks are pretty strong. Try it.

One of my UQs has mitten hooks on the shock cord to go over the ridgeline and clip to the opposite side. I've had it out several nights with no issues.

Fantastic thank you! The current system is a bit fiddly, so I figured it'd work. I'll get it threaded on the shock cord ASAP :-)
