    Help!

I wanted to send a PM and instead I got this message "You have reached your stored private message quota and cannot send any further messages until space has been created."

I deleted about 50 messages from my inbox and another 50 from my sent. I closed the website and reopened and it still gives me this error.

    What am I missing?

I thought this meant the person you are attempting to PM has run out of space but I could be wrong.

Nope, I figured it out. My membership expired. No warnings. And since I'm no longer a paying member and I now have very little PM storage.

Ah. Odd as I got an email a week or so before my membership expired it was in the spam folder though.

I've never received such an email. Is there a setting I need to turn on/off? Thanks

Not that I remember setting. Some web site hosts/providers are so aggressive that they block or trash emails that aren't main stream. I use my yahoo account and it seems to have worked twice.

I am shocked that we only get a single notice and that that single notice comes on such extremely short notice. Unless you're sitting at home with your checkbook in hand, you can't get a check back to HF in time to prevent suspension. There is no grace period. Not everyone wants to pay electronically. Heaven help you if you're traveling, on vacation, out hiking, ill, or any number of other things during that week.

There should be 2 or 3 notices starting at least a month ahead. There should be a grace period and a warning notice at the start of it. There should be different kinds of notices/warnings. Email has glitches, so why rely solely on it? Put a notice up when you sign on, for instance. IMHO, of course.

I agree with Rain Man on this one. There are likely a lot of members that forget to renew if they aren't reminded. It probably should be configurable as some may not want more than one reminder.

Only Rick the owner can answer these questions or comment on your suggestions. I don't believe any of us mods or admins have access to that part of the forum software.
I always though since this 10 bucks a year was a donation to help keep the lights on and not a membership one would not get any kind of notice you need to pay up.
However since some say they get some kind of a notice there must be something in place I am unaware of.

I believe the reason that some users get email messages and other don't has to do with there email setting or service providers.
I have researched this with many people who said they are not getting email notifications.
I have found that the Hammock Forums server is sending them out.
This tells me that the person not receiving them is blocking them or their email provider is blocking them.
