Simply Light Designs Gear Hammock as Hammock Chair?

I have an Arrowhead Equipment Kickback Chair. I love it. I just ordered a gear hammock from Simply Light Designs. I know from talking to Jared, notwithstanding the accompanying carabiners, it can/could be used as a hammock chair. Has anybody here done so? What was your experience in so doing?

My buddy has the AHE version and loves it. It doesn't look much different from the gear hammock, so I'm sure your good to go, especially if you've discussed it with Jared. I keep looking at one of those and keep going back and forth about it.

I've not tried this so if you do be sure to post back your findings. Also please post your weight so we know what it can handle.

I have one of their gear hammocks as well. I rigged up a simple set of whoopies using some extra ZingIt I had and attached it to some tree straps as a chair setup. For me, it worked absolutely fine, no issues at all.
I’m 165 with clothes, so I figure definitely safe to 175.

I'm glad you guys mentioned this as I have one of Jared's gear hammocks and have wondered about using it as a chair before.
I use Dutch's Beetle Buckles now and attach the CL's of the hammock to the buckle and the whoopie for the SLD gear hammock
to the beetles as well.Works Great and keeps the spider and other smaller creatures from pawing around in my gear as well as keeping it off the wet ground.
