    Slingbow

I made two slingbows. Waiting on stronger bands so I can get a 40 lb pull.

The one on the right is a converted slingshot... just added the Whisker Biscuit and shortened the bands. I drilled a little hole for a third tiewrap, so the WBiscuit would stay put.

The one on the left is a 'biner style slingbow. I put 1/4" ringbolts in the band, and a piece of Superman's cape to make it easier to hold. This is supposed to be an EDC slingbow, the idea being that you can carry other stuff on the 'biner, with the bands around your neck, and no will know that you are armed. You need an arrow that unscrews and stows in two parts. (I did not do that... yet)

The arrows are Easton 1820 Genesis aluminum arrows... full length but very light, for kids bows. I broke off the nock and inserted a golf tee, secured with electrical tape. I put slip-on bunny busters over the field tips.

If it is out of Spesnaz shovel range, I can shoot it with a slingbow!

First use leaves me disappointed. It's under powered, because I ony just ordered the stronger bands from CTD. However, it also blew out the Whisker Biscuit... need to reorder the large size, so the golf tee will go through.

Still, the arrow goes out off balance, because the nock end hits the biscuit. It went much better when I lifted the arrow with my finger. This problem exists for both the slingshot version and the 'biner version.

    More work to do...

    Slingbow from Wilderness outfitters

    Slingbow mods

    Slingbow fishing

    Slingbow big game hunt

I made one with the whiskerbisket and the black bands.. Works great, I would say a 15 yard kill zone.

I raised the bisket because the arrow was clipping the bottom of the bisket. If you raise it, it will fly smoothly through the bisket and be much more accurate. I also replaced the standard band with the black hi power band.

I also epoxied the bisket in the holder.. mine would fly out too but it was before I raised it, I also thought of reversing the whisker, but it takes away from the aiming device. So Expoxy worked well for me.

I saw the video, and couldn't remember which one it was.. But it sure is cool.. Have you tried that one yet? I really don't think the red Band had enough power, but the black band has plenty, and uses muscles that you probably haven't used in a while, unlike a real bow.. But it certainly performed better for me.

Yeah, but they are wimpy with the retail slingshot bands.

I like the game hunting mods best!
