Hop skip and a jump from Hot Springs NC

Hello all. I've been lurking for a couple of months now and figured it was time to introduce myself.

I'm a recent arrival to Western North Carolina and new hanger as well.

I've found a wealth of knowledge here about the hammocking "scene", equiment mods and noticed some interesting personalities posting on these forums . My kind of folks.

I have a Hennessy Exped and will be sending it in for the zipper mod soon based on what I've learned here.

Looking forward to sharing some stories of hiking and hanging in the Blue Ridge and the Smokies this spring.

Thanks for all the info I've gleaned and hopefully I will be able to add to the collective wisdom.

    Welcome aboard!!

You live in some nice hiking area. 100s of miles of trails within a few hrs drive.

    Want to trade?

    HMMMMMM

Cincinnati vs stepping out my back door and hitting the trail, jumping in my car for twenty minutes to get to the AT, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Pisgah, etc etc.

    Thinking, thinking thinking.

    No thanks .

Welcome above ground! Hop on down to the spring hang at Hot Springs (SEHHA) in April/early May depending on Ed's schedule. You can get an eyeful of hammock stuff there.

Wow...you've landed yourself right in the middle of a little slice of heaven. Max Patch to Hot Springs is a good weekend trip and the music scene in Asheville is great. Enjoy!

    Thanks,

I'll be keeping my eyes open for the announcement thread for that hang. I read about the one last year and it was what sparked my interest in the Hammock Forum.

Here's a picture or two of the trails on my property. I've scoped out a likely hang site or three in the last month. Now if it stops snowing and raining, I can get some hang time in.

The singin' ,hammock slingin', show shoein' , stove testin', sub-zero youtube hero hisself has taken a moment to greet little ol' me.

    How cool is that?

I've been enjoying your youtube exploits for some time now, thanks for the shout out and if you find yourself in my part of NC, I'll be happy to hook you up with the best in barbeque and a place to hang your hammock.
