    Hammock sofa/loveseat????

I've been thinking about trying to make a hammock sofa/loveseat for 2 for my wife and I. I have searched for examples of one to look at, to no avail, and I am wondering if anyone can point me at something.

The goal would be a lightweight piece of gear suitable for lounging during dayhike lunches or around a campfire. I don't want to use a standard gathered-end hammock, where we would be squished against each other. I would also like more structured, upright support, more chair-like. I'm thinking more of a bridge hammock kind of thing, or an Amok for two.

    Any help would be appreciated!

It is a mix between Amok and the Tentsile and it comes with detachable bugnet and a tarp. It's the Treble Hammock 2.0 (sorry for no link)

Njredneck has a couple of these hammocks he got on sale for $30 each. They're great for lounging around - the fabric and pole are pretty sturdy. I've seen two people weighing over 550 lbs. sitting comfortably in one. As far as I know, njredneck just uses them for lounging - I'm not sure how comfortable they would be for sleeping. I'm not sure I've even seen anyone laying down in one for more than a couple of minutes.

It makes a pretty good camp chair, though.

I wonder why REI stopped selling that one.

I made a super wide hammock a while back that wants to twist to one side. I can't quite figure that out but the result is that it feels a bit like the Downtime if you're sitting in it sideways.
I feel like whatever quirk in geometry I gave the thing could be exploited to make a hammock couch pretty easily. I suspect the ends are cut at a slant by accident.

I think their pricing was a bit cockadoodle - they were asking $150 for the hammock and they just didn't move. However, once they put them at $30 clearance they moved!

I'm thinking about making something like the Downtime, but maybe more like a short bridge hammock with a shallower cat cut on one side than on the other. Just looking at the Downtime, I suspect it's kind of shapeless/slouchy to sit in, and I'd like something more supportive and comfortable. Any thoughts?
