-5F Overnighter in Maine -with Video!

Okay, here is my Very First video report thingy for Hammock Forums!

It's a bit rough (I'm still getting used to my Kodak ZX1 camcorder) but I suppose it works for a first attempt.

It's got something for everyone (or no-one, guess I'll find out)

Anyway, we had a clear cold night last Saturday for Kenduskeag, Maine with a projected low of -2F. It actually got down to -5F, according to my low-tech Sunto thermometer.

'Ere, we go, 'ere we go... Allons-y!

speaking from experience with my incubator + wbbb, it will cover the footbox fine. I did a test run last friday night. Cold feet weren't a problem. The shelf, however, still gives me trouble if I put the side pulls out.

While the UQ might have been the primary reason for cold feet, make sure your socks aren't too tight. If I sleep in "new" socks, my feet tend to get cold. So, I bring along a pair of smartwool socks whose elastic has been blown out just a bit. I find my feet are much warmer wearing those than wearing "warmer" socks that are new.

    Just a thought...

"Away" or "Out there" "Sector 12" or "Stalag 13" ...take yer pick.

I am so up for a group hang, but so much may depend on weather, among other things.

But as you can see from the video, not much'll stop me!
