Ok, so I've been looking through the archives and learning a lot, but how/where do I attach my ridgeline if I'm using para cord & knots? Does it just attach to both ends of my hammock line? I saw somewhere that most people liek them set at about 100" or so. Any particular knot I need to use, or just anything work since there isn't much stress on it. Still not quite sure how this gauges my sag. Any videos on it? Might be a good project for Shug!

Paracord (being nylon) will stretch, so though it can certainly handle ridgeline stress without breaking, it won't stay "tight".
Knots are generally simple, but I'm not an expert so I'll defer to others.
Most who use a dedicated ridgeline (over OR under the tarp) use something like Zing-it or Speer no-tangle line. It's very strong and won't stretch. Another popular solution (to avoid knots) are the small NiteIze Figure 9 devices.
Where to tie off the ridgeline relative to the hammock attachment point (for me) is a variable since the further apart the trees are, the higher my hammock is tied off (to get the "angle of the dangle" right). My ridgeline is usually lower than the tie-off point of the hammock under "normal" conditions.

Tie a bight on one (a loop with an overhand knot) and do an "over-under" lash on the foot end and secure that with a couple of slippery half hitches.
Used that for years until I went to a whoopie sling hammock ridgeline.

The last video link had some great refresher knot demonstrations.
I wasn't sure how it was gonna guage my hang either til i put one on my hammock. I use a big whoopiesling so it's easily adjustable. I larksheaded the fixed eye end to the suspension and attatched the adjustable loop with a carabiner to the other side of the suspension. My suspension is whoopieslings as well. They are larksheaded in my end channels just like Opie demonstrates in his video. It does control the hang and it gives ya cool line to hang stuff on! If you get bored you can strum some bass on it too!!

I've done it for awhile now, just the way shug described, I left it longer than needed at first, and did a bunch of test hangs. With the half hitches you can untie and retie till "you" find your comfy spot. Once you find your spot, (we are all a little different, so my wife reminds me daily) you can cut and tie off the excess, or leave it long for future re-adjusting.
Tying the excess up into the gathered peak and leave some loops hanging down for hanging items like stuff sacks and pillows, etc. works slick, too.
