Sorry, I'm late to the party. Just saw this thread. Adding my two cents for whatever it is worth in case some additional information my help. The Columbia River Gorge offers numerous trails with some mentioned here like Eagle Creek and Herman Creek. It's located a little more than an hour outside of Portland and has 77 waterfalls on the Oregon side of the recreation area. Here are a couple of sites that might help provide further insight as to the Gorge offerings. Hopefully they help you with your search. https://www.outdoorproject.com/blog-...ia-river-gorge and http://www.statesmanjournal.com/stor...best/81079422/. Enjoy your adventure. It should be fun!

Unfortunately, since this thread was started, most of the Gorge hikes mentioned in this thread have been charred to bits.

Thanks, we ended up going to Colorado due to the scorched Earth in Oregon. It was great, but I was really looking forward to seeing the rainforest.

Plenty of rainforest left, just not in the Gorge. The Hoh Forest in Washington is the rainiest of the bunch.
