SOLD: Mountain Hardwear Xenon Gore-Tex Performance Shell

    Size: XL
    Color: Purple Blue

I got a new set of rain gear for my upcoming trip to Tanzania (an excuse to buy a lot of stuff I don't "need") and now have a spare gore-tex rain jacket. The Mountain Hardwear Xenon is one of MH's higher end Gore-Tex Performance Shell jackets. It's got all of the nice features a good rain shell should have like both pit and chest zip vents, seam taped zippers, one-handed waist tightening, and fold-away hood. The jacket has always been stored hung in my closet. There's no holes, scratches, or other defects. I have used it approximately 4-6 times, but always kept it stuffed in my pack just in case. It fits me well as a shell, good for layering with room underneath. I'm 6' 2" tall with broad shoulders and it fits me nicely with a little room to spare. I like that in a shell.

Asking $175 (includes shipping to ConUS), but open to offers. PM if interested, PayPal only unless you're in Knoxville.

Below are links to several review sites and other e-commerce sites. It really is a nice jacket!

Lowering the price to $150 shipped to CONUS. Or if you prefer, make an offer. I'm a reasonable man! Just don't ask my girlfriend...

p.s. I can't edit the original thread for some reason?

    sent ya a pm.

interested, if it's durable. got plenty of breathable waterproof shells but need something i can do cooler weather backpacking chores with - cutting/hauling wood and brushing up against branches, etc w/o worrying about shredding the thing. also need something i can layer with.

i've got a bombproof lined gore-tex jacket that is great for winter weather backpacking but will be a bit too hot for upcoming late winter/spring here in ohio.

    thanks,
    randy

To answer your questions. I would say this is a more rugged rain jacket than most. It uses the Gore-Tex performance shell which is actually a multiple Gore layering fabric. I'm unsure as to whether this is a 2 layer or 3 layer though. I would say that it would hold up to bush whacking/wood cutting well.

As for layering and arm length I describe myself as 6' 2" tall and broad shouldered. There is more than enough room in this thing to layer. This link is a picture of me wearing the jacket, a fleece, a long sleeve shirt, and a smart wool base layer under it. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink I'm not sure about you, but I can't think of much more layering that could occur under this thing

I also consider myself to be "monkey armed" in other words most long sleeve shirts will immediately go half way up my forearm if I raise my arms. I like this jacket because I don't have that problem.

A quick side note is that I'm leaving the country on Thursday for a trip to Tanzania Africa. I will be gone two weeks and won't have internet. If anyone is interested in buying it, I can try to ship tomorrow or ship it when I get back.
