The idea of whoopie slings is really starting to intrigue me. Anyone done the conversion on a BB? Any special considerations? Specifically wondering if the ridgeline is built into the existing whipping.
Thanks

It has been done. There is either a tutorial or a video floating around here somewhere. I'll try to dig it up, if someone doesn't find it first.

I cut my ridgeline on my BB to make it detachable with a biner. I have noticed no problems and have 20+ nights on the modification. Dont whoppies just garda hitch(larkshead) over the existing gathered end section of the hammock?
maybe hc4u can find the video. you have to:
pull the rl out of the whipping till it stops (about 3"), remove suspension from ridgeline loop, remove suspension from hammock noting how it goes through the small sewn loop in the end of the edge binding, and put the whoopie through that small loop when you attach it and then re-connect the rl to the whoopie.
I have pictures on my site in the tutorials section that show how to do what WBG describes above. I show it with a Chain Link but the process is the same for a whoopie.

No Problem, sometimes the step by step visual thing helps folks see what is going where. Dose me any way.

Paul,
I looked at the tutorial posted by HC4U (for fun as I've already attached the whoopies from you to my WB). Your skip between pict 4 with the WB to two picts with and end-channel hammock and back to WB in pict 7 was a bit confusing. Just looking at #7, it's not difficult to see what you did (larks head the fixed end of the whoopie (or the chain link in this case) and pass the free end through the loop of ridgeline), but what is the purpose of those other two photos in there?
File name error moved some of my pictures around, sorry about that, should have it fixed in a few.
