    Dyneema Rain Skirt and Hip Belt Pouch Kits

    We've added a few new DIY kits this week, specifically ones that use Dyneema . See below:

    Dyneema Rain Skirt Kit

    -> https://ripstopbytheroll.com/product...ema-rain-skirt

    The rain skirt is kinda like rain pants, but better. They're easier to get on/off, lighter, and much more breathable during sweaty activities like hiking.

    To start, we're offering the kit in ALL our 0.5 oz Dyneema colors. This makes a finished rain skirt that's right at an ounce, yet still fairly durable for the weight. If you'd like to see another Dyneema material option, just let us know and we'll get it added.

    Build time between sizing and sewing is estimated at around 30 min and full PDF instructions are posted HERE.

    Dyneema Hip Belt Pouch Kit

    This is the same Hip Belt Pouch Kit we announced in HyperD 300 a couple days ago, just in Dyneema. The coolest thing about this kit is that we LASER CUT the fabric blank to the exact size you need, which does two things:

    1. Eliminates waste and brings down cost - This is especially important when dealing with Dyneema as the prices are sky high already. By cutting the fabric for you, we only need to charge for the exact area needed and not an entire yard or half yard.

    2. Makes the kit ready to sew right out of the bag - This one's pretty obvious, but still. We cut it so you don't have to .

    Build time between sizing and sewing is estimated at around 30 min and full PDF instructions are posted HERE.

    *******************************************

    If you're looking for an easy project to get your feet wet with Dyneema, both of these kits are great. Get sewing, HAVE FUN, and as always let us know if you have any questions!

    Thank YOU

    Great projects. I ordered material for a skirt but it was the Membrane PU4000. I may have to change to the Dyneema.

    Cool! If the Dyneema is too rich for anyone's blood, we're also making a standard Silpoly/Silnylon/etc version of the kit. That should be up within a day or two.

    I am about to make a silpoly kilt. I sewed the triangle leftovers from a tarp together to make a rectangle so the material is nearly free. I am not that worried about the seam, but this is very tempting...
