I may make this. As a rookie this would be perfect for me to learn from the pros. What happens at these and what do I bring as far as food goes? Whats the routine?
    Thanks

I am now definitely coming, and plan on being there by noon on Friday.

I am waiting on confirmation from them if they are coming and on what days. I am asking them to commit and let me know in the next 2 days. 2 already dropped out for a boy scout commitment.

If the others do come, here's the status on gear:

There are 2 of them that may come along.
    - I am going to make them hammocks. I think I have enough material to cover their suspension as well.
    - They do not have any bottom insulation, and would be very grateful if they could borrow an Underquilt
    - One my need a topquilt, I have an extra sleeping bag for the other.
    - They both may need a tarp and help rigging and possibly hardware. We do have some heavy rectangle tarps, but not sure how well that will work out if it actually rains.
Paul, I've got them covered. I will bring at least two extra complete set-ups.

Todd has said: "Hammock hangs are gatherings where old guys sit around the campfire and talk about recipes and sewing".

mountaindreamer this would be a great hang to learn from! There will be a very wide variety of hammocks available to take a look at. We normally just gather around the fire for two days and share hiking, camping, and life stories. Its 300 acres with trails to walk or ride a bike if you wish. Sardis Lake is only about a 5 minute ride away if you wish to go check it out. Concerning food, its totally up to you. Just make sure at the least, bring enough for yourself. If you wish to contribute to the group, anything from cookies to your favorite homemade "whatever" is fine. Some prepare a big pot of soup, beans, gumbo, etc. to share with the group. There is usually some kind of meat cooking over the fire at almost every moment. There is also a wal-mart and Kroger about 12 minutes away if you wish to do some shopping once you get here. Looking forward to meeting you.
