Three of the six of us arrived at the first camp in Brewster. The campground promised a large site with lots of trees for hammocks.
It has lots of trees but it was all perimeter trees, this was an open cube with no trees other than the ones bordering the site. Since this was our starting point my truck was with us so I parked it in the middle and we ended up attaching four hammocks to my truck rack. I had a turtle dog in my truck from a previous hang so I used it too. the sixth guy had a tent no problem. After setting up three of us went exploring a little to find the trail and rode into the next town of Orleans . We went back to camp and McRAT was waiting for us. a couple hours later Brazilian guy and "Nick" arrived they peddled in from the train station seventeen miles away.
That night it rained heavy and went to early afternoon the next day. We decided to ride despite the nasty weather. After about an hour the sky cleared and we were in good shape. We rode to the end of the rail trail and had lunch it was a fairly easy ride thus far. The rest of the ride would be on the road it proved to be a beautiful but challenging ride with many uphills to the next camp ground. When we got to the second camp in North Truro , it had amazing trees they were some kind of fur trees. We had a good sized site more than enough trees. We set up and relaxed. That night we took uber 6 miles away to P-town we walked around checking out the scenery and had an amazing dinner , three of us ordered a towering seafood special featuring lobster and crab legs. Sunday we packed up and started our journey back we had a nice sunny day, stopped at a nice little beach on the bay side. When we got back to my truck some cold beers were waiting for us. We then drove a famous 4.5 star Brazilian restaurant nearby and made up for loss of calories to say the least.
We rode roughly 70 miles Brazilian guy and Nick more like 100
This was the first annual cape bike and hang. We had a great group of guys I enjoyed riding and hanging out with all of you. We had lots of fun moments and challenges.
Special thanks to "Mr Hook" for joining us on this trip he is a bicycle expert and thoroughly helped everyone out with quick fixs and concerns.
