    gear storage?

I know I've seen threads in here somewhere regarding storing gear, I think I saw some in terms of another "hammock" underneath to hold gear. Anyways, can anyone share some links or ideas for storing their packs while hammocking? Thanks

i just keep an extra bit of mule tape, and tie my bag off to the tree i'm hammocking on. some just set their bags on the ground cover under their hammock

gear slings are awesome imo tho, and I'm definitely thinking about adding one to the armada

I use the first hammock I ever made beneath the one I sleep in, have a ridgeline bag, and made a gear loft (mini hammock) that attatches to the rideline. When motorcycle camping it keeps everything off the ground, inside the bug net, under the tarp, and easily accessible.

I purchased a small hammock, as you mentioned, to hold my gear. I was just putting my gear on the ground with a small tarp but I like it up off the ground and within reach without getting out of the hammock. People do hang theirs below their hammock, but I have found I love mine actually above and slightly to the side--the left side works great for me. I will add some pictures--I love having the 'shelf' right there handly. Note: I just put put in my sleeping bag and travel pillow for demostration, it holds my pack great, too.

I just use a pack hanger that I made and hang my pack from a tree. Light rain I just cover it with the pack cover. Heavy rain and I bring it under my tarp and clip it to my foot end.

You can also use a gear hammock:

I use a carabiner, during use of pack it secures my headlamp and water filter/first aid, so it can be easily accessed even in the dark; I can use this biner to secure the haul loop on my pack to the tree hugger loop or the CL on my hammock pending weather. I also use a CF pack liner in my pack that can be used to counter balance if it really starts to bother me if I have a super full load. This also gives me the option to keep all quilts dry even when packing up without fear of the pack being wet or not, it also is a precaution if I clipped to tree side and woke up to rain or heavy fog.

I agree. I've never seen the Just Jeff pack cover/gear hammock. It's definitely on my list of soon-to-buys now, though. Thanks for posting it.

I definitely like the Big Carl pack hanger above. However, I do have to get up sometimes to grab gear. That sucks, but I often have to use the bathroom anyway.
