JAPAN (Kanto region) - Sep 30th (one night)

I got approval from the wife to go hiking and camp one night in the Kanto/Yamanashi region - Sept 30 / Oct 1 (Sat/Sun).

Anyone wants to come? Trying to find a place with elevation to avoid the hornets' last gasp.

Thinking about new place I read - Mt. Shirayanomaru http://ridgelineimages.com/hiking/shirayanomaru/

    Or revisit Mt. Daibosatsurei (pictured)

    Cancelling.

Will instead use Saturday for a day hike up Takao to shake down my gear for a four day trip.

Four days hiking in JP? Where to where? Are there trails that take four days? Or just camping and chilling?

I'll look that up, I doubt I'll be able to do it, but I can dream. Good luck/have fun. Ps. I was on top of kumotori San a couple of week ago. There weren't any hornets that I saw. It was raining both days but pretty much a big free couple of days hiking. They only time I got bugs was when I turned on the head light at night while cooking dinner. A wide array of flying friends wanted to check out my light. No demon wasps though.

Darn! Wish I gad checked in before I left for my trip. I was in the same area! I just did Mt. Mizugaki, Mt. Kinpu, and Mt. Kobushigatake from the 28th to the 30th. Could have extended a day and tried to catch up with you. Next time!

How awesome would that have been. Definitely need to try to meet up.

How was the hanging situation like? We’re there places you were able to hang your hammock?
