Are you a hot or cold sleeper? The only real downside to the Half-Wit (and why I know it wouldn't work for me as a hot sleeper) is that if you like to kick a leg out of your top quilt on warmer nights for ventilation, you'll leave yourself exposed to bugs in the Half-Wit. I sleep so warm that I will typically kick my leg out at some point- even when the lows are in the upper 40s. So for me, I prefer the full bug net- knowing that I will be protected from the bugs when I kick off the top quilt.
After reading over the reviews and watching a bunch of Youtube videos about the BlackBird and the Chameleon I'm leaning towards the Chameleon. I like the versatility that it has and even with all the bells and whistles it still weighs a bit less than my current hammock/bugnet setup. ENO was great for getting me into hammock camping, but its just heavy compared to everything else available.
I don't know about weight but I have a chameleon and a simply light design trail lair and find the lair more comfortable. But I'm new to hammock camping.
