This sounds like an Awesome Hang. I'm going to try to make it this year. Hope Florida will still be there lol.

You know I'm there. Just try to keep me out. If you try, I'll just make a fire and burn things and stuff.

I hope you all made it thru the gail with little damage at most.

Again for this year, I will set up a group hike on the Florida Trail. Last year it was a fun 9+ mile hike in the Juniper Prairie on Friday. Most likely will do the same this year on Friday and 8-11 miles on a different part of the FT. Maybe Farles Prairie this year.

Gumbo and Timberrr, thanks again for starting this thread and leading HangCon. It's a must do epic event not to be missed.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Can't remember why I missed last year but the two White chihuahuas and I will be there. I even gave the 10 lbs rice maker to someone to take up but at the last minute he had to work. The year before last we made 10 lbs and then another 5 lbs. I'll take the rice as well.

What? The Cost for the World's Largest Group Hammock Hang is FREE! Can this Be? HANGCON 2018!!

Yes. It's free. Come on down.

There are lots of things to do, eat, share, try out, win, experience. Unfortunately, there is a cost to put this great event on for us and as of yet, no philanthropist has stepped forward. Well, all our vendors are GREAT!

So we must help where we can.

We can buy raffle tickets to help the cost. We can donate using Gumbo's information on her first post to pre-purchase all the AWESOME and tasty food. We can also donate using the donation table available in the lodge(Yes, we have a lodge at HangCon).

Another way to help your fellow hanger is to lead a class and share your knowledge. Navigation, Kayaking, Hiking, Native Plants, Knife Sharpening/Skills to name just a few. How about leading a game for a few hours with the kids(Yes, kids of all ages welcome).

Also, there is no paid staff. We are the staff. Please share in cooking/serving duties(my goal is to have Gumbo and j-e-m eat with their hubbies), the dishes need to be washed, tables need to be bussed and wiped, bathrooms could use a cleaning, gates need to be closed at night, etc. etc.

Not a bad "price" to pay. Using our talents to help out. Sign me up.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Huh. I might actually be able to make this one. My beloved is not a camper, but she might be willing to stay in a nearby hotel and hang out during the day. This might work!!

If I don't have a disc golf tournament, this is something that sounds really interesting. Can we bring our own kayaks?
