Smile Hi Y'all from Nashville, TN

    Hello!

I actually reside about 35 miles east of Nashville, but close enough. I'm slowly dipping my toe in the water with hammock camping. I actually used a hammock for the first time last weekend. I really liked it so now I'm currently working on my gear. I'm starting out affordable as I have kids that suck the money right out of my purse (marching band, wrestling, BETA, etc). I'm currently working on making my own UQ from the Costco blankets and just ordered a Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt. I'll get better stuff over time, but everyone has to start somewhere right?

Anyways, I am really looking forward to learning from all of you!

    JenniLynn

Welcome from Northern Arkansas! A lot of folks build gear on their own and build up a little at a time! Enjoy the new hobby!

Welcome ... from Nashville! Costco quilts are great. I just returned from two weeks in Maine. Both my UQ and my TQ were Costco DIY mods. Perfect.

Anyway, welcome from an old, ex marching band booster!

I've actually hiked with you before! My daughter, Trinity, and I went with you, Al, and Susan to Sawmill a few years ago!

Welcome from SW Missouri. Gear is just gear, don't fret that. Enjoy the experience and new gear will come when the time is right. I have had a lot of fun with very cheap gear. I have seen folks get excited and blow a ton of money on the wrong stuff too. If you haven't, be sure to check out Shug. He is one of the best reviewers I have seen and never seems to have any agenda other than trying to help.

    Hey Jennit

It's not too cold yet in Nashville. Enjoy what you have and get outdoors. I don't understand how kids suck money up. (Mine now have kids). Welcome to the world of hanging.
