Had a great time this weekend. For all the folks that couldn't make it for one reason or another....NEENER NEENER, you missed the boat (and the wind, rain, and near freezing temps) AND one of the most awesome campside buffets I've ever seen.

I learned a number of things too. Number one is that my standard gear is way too heavy for any form of serious backpacking. Number 2 is just how seriously out of shape I've gotten, and number 3 is that....I need to buy more stuff to help fix #1 & #2!

A truly interesting group of people.

Dennis makes awesome cole slaw, and bridge hammocks, and tarps, and quilts and underquilts, pack covers, etc, etc. Another serious DIYer who is way too quiet about his gear making talents. Thanks for coming Dennis. It was a pleasure meeting you.

And a pleasure laying in your hammock. Man that thing was comfortable. You should post pics. The xtra length really made it very comfortable and super roomy. I must of missed your slaw though ill have to make sure I grab some next year.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

You're right, Dutch. I apologize. (But you handled it very graciously, and you eventually got to see the cord attachments you wanted to see again.)

For sure . . Opie's secret surprise raffel package was lots of fun . . . .especially for Cranky Bear who had the winning ticket. FWIW my new whoOpie slings worked well and I'm sure that Cranky Bear will put Opie's donation to good use.

It's kinda a funny I was checkin out 2Q's set-up (in amazement of course, or jealousy, well both really) and said to him I got to try out a whoopie sling set-up some time but I just got a new suspension system from Paul at AHE, well then we head down to the pavilion buy a bunch of tickets, first row of prizes go, then the second, and on into the third, and I said oh well at least it's going to HF so no big deal, then Adia (my GF) had a winning ticket and nabbed the down throw, then my number got picked I walked up and said oooohhhhhhhh Opie's package is still there, and I faintly heard Dutch saying aahhh you don't want that, so I grabbed it and no sooner do I have it in my hand like 4-5 people say well open it we all want to know whats in it, so HappyCamper halts the raffle so everyone can see what was in your special package, and when I saw what was in it I just started to laugh cause I was just talking to 2Q about this very thing. It is going on my hammock as we speak! Thank you soooooo much, it was too kind of you to make this package up and donate it to the raffle! I have to say that everyone including you whom made donations to the raffle are top notch people and are to be commended for the time and effort that you all put in to not only help us newbies and everyone else here on HF but also the things that you all do to make events like the MAHHA hang be even more of a wonderful event, it would be great without the prizes but truly spectacular with them!!!!!
