Ok group, I recently joined a this is the first "Hang" I plan to attend. What do I need to know? I been to Gaithland SP before and I think I can find it again. Is this a hike-in or a drive-in? What I mean is, will I be limited to 30 lbs or all the hand truck will carry? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Dale

Kind of your choice what you drag in. The site is only 1/2 mile or so from parking.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Well first off, welcome to the group, we all look forward to meeting you. There is a 1.5 mile hike, some of it is upwards and not totally flat to bring a hand cart. Can it be done, sure, might be a little frustrating though. Once you get to the top it is smooth sailing. Saturday most of us are down at the pavilion and the rest are either checking out rigs or out and about in the park. Saturday night we have a large dinner, you can bring anything you want to add to the table if you want. Otherwise just come on out and have fun. Hope this helps.

I think this is long. It is more like half a mile taking the tote road. Still gots an uphill climb but not bad. It takes me about 30-40 minutes to get from camp to the pavilion and I am SLOW. (1 mile an hour on the flat is my speed loaded or not.)

Yes, it's more like a half mile in. Not bad at all. Most people will have their pack on and then carry in a chair or something else. Mac carried in my bundle of wood last time. That makes it REAL easy!

Question Thanks for the info, one more thing...

Aside from the Saturday night pot luck, does every one cook on solo stoves or do people group up on 3 burner Colemans?

I live in MD and I'm retired. I can help with logistics, so let me know if I can help.

    Thanks again, Dale
