    Converted...

Last night was my first night in the trees in my recently purchased Expedition hammock. I can now understand fully why this crowd is so positive about sleeping off the ground. I had a great night--well,there were a few problems. Not with the hammock, mind you. I have a very small yard with no substantial trees. The only trees available for my practice were in the easement, out by the curb. I lashed the ropes with no problems, got into my sleeping bag, no problems and fell to sleep almost immediately; no problems.

The problems were with the neighbors and their loud car at 2:00 am. Those trains heading to Detroit were a problem and the 2 newpapers delivered exceptionally early, it seemed, were the only troubles I had.

I am a convert to hammocking. What a great way to sleep outdoors!
(Even though my wife kept wondering aloud, 'What will the neighbors think?' They'll think I've got it made!)

The nice thing about hammocks is that it's easy to take them places where you don't have neighbors and newspapers.

Welcome to the group. Good to see another one from my part of the world here, now that I am moving and getting ready for my AT hike next week.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

T-Dubs, welcome aboard to the forums. I can sypathize with your plight, I was sleeping just a little bit ago in my hammock on the back porch and some knucklehead decided for whatever reason that setting off fireworks was a priority at 0330. Idiots. Anyway, glad you're enjoying your new hammock and glad to have you with us.
