    hanging indoors

what is the best way to do this. I would like to set up my hammock in the basement, there are exposed supports but nothing I could wrap around. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been having trouble sleeping lately, figure a night in the hammock is just what I need, but I live in a townhouse with no backyard. the nearest park I could sleep in is an hour drive.

    Let Me Count the Ways

The first, and imo, best way is with a stand. There are plans aplenty here.

Exposed supports you say? I just use eye-bolts screwed into them. They hold my 230ish pounds, plus Genuine Draft's weight (which is some kind of national security secret). If you can see the supports, you should be able to drill dead-center. I sleep every night at home in a hammock hung in that manner.

I have eye bolt lags screws in all over my house!
    the front porch
    the living room
    my office
soon to be in the bedroom .....
    my moto garage
    my side porch
    and backyard ......
I use window jams and door jams to set the bolts into.
then I use carabiners to hook to, quick and easy.
