I just read 'Sevens' post and it made me wonder

How many of us play with either a hammock, tarp, suspension, TQ,UQs, etc. on a daily basis?
I work every other week and the weeks I'm off it is at least daily that I'm fooling with something to do with hammocking...anybody else?

    Mine is a nightly task.

Its usually trying to build a better mousetrap. I cant sleep in it during the week as my stand takes up the living room. So its on the weekends I get hang time...

Wait till you see what Ive got in store for the Switchback.

    Tarp... every single day. Every...single...day...

The rest, maybe once a week.

I fiddle with my hammock's insulation (expedition asym with zipper mod and SS) every single night because i sleep in it... my bed is now my dog's.
But this fiddling is in great part due to the ocf pad... i just doesnt get properly aligned with the diagonal i like.

I get to play with all the gear There is not a day that goes buy without me playing with something, one minute I am making whoopie slings, them tarp lines, then a quilt, a top cover, carabiners. Ooh then it's lunch time so grab my stove and wham bam chow time. Then back after it, cinch buckles, webbing, cut some amsteel. I get the best all of it. When I make something new, well I got to test it right, so that means hopping in a hammock for a test lounge...er a hang.

Had to play, I mean test some new items today so I ran off to the desert and found some trees at one of the small local reservoirs.

my new BB and maccat is hanging in the backyard as i type. i'm playing with plain old insultex inside the hammock to lay on to see how many layers are needed to keep me warm. i was going to sleep in it tonight but my wife is coming home from a 4 day work trip so she might not like that. tomorrow for sure.

    Does playing mentally count?

I spend hours reading the forums and trying to understand everything and then see all the options.
