11" Silpoly XL Winter Haven vs. 11' CF Winter Palace

Silpoly XL - Winter Haven 4-Season Tarp $231.95

    • - Length 11 Foot
    • - Catenary Cut Yes
    • - Color Silpoly XL - Dark Olive
    • - Door Ends With Snaps
    • - Side Panel Pull Outs
    • - Line Locs

Wider and more waterproof, 1.1 oz Silpoly XL is the big brother to our best selling 1.1 oz Silpoly material. Put simply, it's over a foot wider with one of the best waterproof ratings on the market for lightweight coated fabrics.

Designed from the ground up by us, the custom woven XL width and enhanced waterproof coating combine to offer best in-class coverage and protection from the elements.

In addition to mega coverage and it's waterproof/windproof characteristics, Silpoly XL offers lower water absorption and increased UV resistance compared to Silnylon. Particularly useful in outdoor applications to minimize sag/stretch when wet and color fade over time.

    22-24oz.

HG Cuben Fiber Winter Palace $419.95

    • Color: Green
    • Ridge Line Length: 11ft
    • Door Tie Backs: yes

    9.14 oz.

I think they pack roughly the same size so it is really about the weight vs. the coverage.

    and of course the price.

He went to Jareds To get the middle edge tie downs does Jared have to make two cat cuts to keep things tight? What was you final tally on the tarp as I'm thinking about getting another one of these with the middle edge tie downs.

Im not sure about the Cat Cuts.

Here is an example of the mid edge tie down on a Winter Haven.

    Silpoly XL is wider.

    From the horses mouth:

Standard tarps are usually 9.5' (114") wide. With Silpoly XL, your width is going to be around 136" after sewing two panels together and hemming.
Here is a link to the layout of a winter tarp:

Extending the base out further makes it easier to form doors on the ends.
