I was hoping to cook some brisket or pulled pork and drive it down on Friday. Not going to happen now. I'll think of something to bring.

I just called and spoke with a ranger. We are fine. Restrictions do go into effect May 1, but she said if we are careful we are fine. Fire rings are ok, just no big fires

I'll be headed south as soon as the traffic dies down. I'd rather sit here and have coffee and relax than sit in traffic and cuss!

    AZ > Showers Point CG > April 27-29 2018 - Spring Hang

After talking to Art, sounds like we should bring some wood since it’s a popular spot.

We actually have a fireplace inside the pavilion, so we should be OK. Bring wood...

Anybody got a big propane container they can bring, like one you use with a gas grill? I am bringing a gas burner, just in case, but I no longer own a propane canister. If all else fails, we can run down to Tucson and pick one up, it's not that far.

I am bringing 3 dozen eggs, cheese, soft taco shells, salsa verde, butter and a griddle for eggs for breakfast. Depending on how many campers we get, it may only make 1 meal, but we'll see.

Speaking of which, the last place to pick up supplies before you head up the mountain is the Safeway at Tanque Verde and the Catalina Hwy:

According to Google it is 24 miles/45 minutes from our campsite.
