    2nd Night Hanging

Last night was my first night hanging. IT WAS GREAT!

Here goes round 2. This time my 10 year old son is hanging with me. He is almost giddy with excitement. It's supposed to be a low of 24 degrees tonight.

I'm going with the same set up as last night:

    -Warbonnet Blackbird
    -DIY 2x4 Hammock stand
    -Covered porch
-North Face down sleeping bag (35 degree). I rigged this up as a UQ).
-Emergency blanket between the UQ and hammock.
-ccf pad under calves and feet
-Down and dirty TQ (2 velux blankets & 2 wool blankets pinned into a TQ)

    The clothing:
-Polyester long underwear & long sleeve top
    -Micro fleece pants
    -T-shirt
    -Wool socks
    -Merino wool beanie

    Max's set up:
-Warbonnet Traveler (hanging from eye hooks)
    -Covered porch
-Generic synthetic sleeping bag (40 degree). I rigged this up as a UQ).
    -CCF pad in UQ
-2 kiddie sleeping bags in UQ
-Emergency blanket between kiddie bags and hammock.
-Down and dirty TQ (1velux blankets, 40 degree mummy bag & 2 fleece blankets pinned into a TQ)

    Max's cloths:
-60/40 long underwear & long sleeve top
    -fleece pants
    -Poly pro T-shirt
    -Wool socks
    -Merino wool beanie
-Down coat & gloves if needed

    I'll update in the AM.

GREAT night for the both of us! Our rigged up insulation worked well. It's just kind of a pain in the butt fussing with all those blankets.

We both slept toasty warm. We had a low of 24-ish. I had a little back sweat going on. It was nothing that truly bothered me. Max woke up about 4:30am to put his glove liners on. Everything said and done...a perfect night. It will be great to sleep out from under the porch (maybe next week??) and see the difference.

We woke up and made some hot cocoa on the Mini Atomic

Max is already asking if we can sleep out tonight! I'm so excited that we get to do this camping/hammocking thing together

Knowing what you do for a living, those sledges are kind of scary!
Looks good man! Glad your boy is enjoying the ride.

It really is something to be enthused about and thanks.

The hammers are for exercises and levering. It's a hobby of mine.
