I have a silnylon Superfly, but even on my original tarp, the Kelty Noah 12, I have loops of shock cord attached directly to my tie out points to which I have loops of zing it that are attached to another length of zing it with a prussic. I've snagged the lines sometimes and I camp around other people too and possibly silnylon stretch aside, the shock cord is a peace of mind. I have shock cord loops attached to the four pull outs of my superfly. They stay attached and if I want to use the pull outs, I attach some zing it lines to the shock cord loops with mitten clips.

I have a SilNylon and a CF tarp and put Dutch's tarp worms with shock cord on both. If I trip over the line they help reduce the shock, as well as absorb gusty winds....near treeline at 12,000' it can get interesting quick
I do use 1/8 shock cord on my cuben tarps just for the reason that you mentioned; they are far too expensive to risk the damage. And I have tripped over my guylines before and was very happy that I had shock cord on them. I also camp in very high wind areas and this helps with the "give" in the tarp I use shock cord on my Argon sil tarp because it stretches...a lot. On my silpoly tarps, I don't use shock cord; not sure why; I just don't.
I changed colors on my reflective guylines last week.Went from red to yellow because in the daylight the red seemed to just "go away".I note that I have had great success with red fishing monofilament line as the fish can't see it either.
I hear ya! I thought it would be cool to to get a black reflective CRL. Not at all, lol! I'm stickin with yellow for all my line.
However, I'll use grey lash-it for my food hang line just to not attract the wildlife; and white reflective glow in the dark shock cordage.
I use shock cord as line tensioners on all my tarp lines. It seems to work well to combat sag on silnylon and helps with the wind on silpoly.

Here is a thread with some input from Brandon @ Warbonnet on the subject.
